This design integrates a common symbol of environmental sustainability with art to bring awareness to our connection with water ecosystems. The design is based on the universal recycling symbol of three arrows in a triangular shape. Instead of arrows, the design has three connected waves inspired by Hokusai’s 'The Great Wave' print. The aim of this design is to remind people that water in the storm sewers is “recycled” back into the ecosystem.
A note about the design: It is intended that the texture of the waves would have varied relief heights to express the fluidity and movement of water.
