Submission #180

Before 1850 the land that is now Vancouver had salmon streams that criss-crossed the old growth forests. Today there are very few streams left and fewer salmon. But the city is still surrounded with water which supports sea life. The Sanitary and Storm sewers ultimatley empty into these waters. It is worth remembering the life that exists in the oceans and rivers around us when we are walking around the paved streets of today's city.
